Gerar arquivo .jar no Eclipse com o Maven, aplicação faz conexão com o MySql

Estou usando o Eclipse e tenho uma aplicação feita usando o Maven que faz conexão com o banco de dados MySql.

Consigo gerar o arquivo .jar, mas quando executo, ele simplesmente trava na tela de login, parece que não conecta no banco.

Para gerar o arquivo .jar eu clico com o botão direito em cima do meu projeto > Run As > Maven Install.

Meu arquivo pom.xml está da seguinte maneira:

Aparentemente seu jar não contém as dependências necessárias para execução da aplicação.

Tenta substitui sua tag de plugins por essa abaixo, ela fará com que o Maven gere o jar da sua aplicação e um jar com sua aplicação e todas as dependências (nome_sua_aplicacao-jar-with-dependencies.jar) necessárias para ser executa via via comando "java -jar nome_sua_aplicacao-jar-with-dependencies.jar"):
